Serial Digital to Analogue PAL/NTSC Converters

These low cost converter modules offer a wide range of
features and options. The PAL/NTSC coder is fully digital,
providing excellent stability. It uses over-sampling
conversion giving near broadcast filtering at low cost. The
subcarrier frequency is digitally synthesised from the serial
input and for PAL incorporates the correct 25Hz offset. The
full range of digital input values are converted allowing
sub-black and above white signals to pass. The VBI can be
either blanked or passed through making this board
suitable for conversion of teletext and other VBI data.

These cards are part of the Series 200 and can be mixed in
our 1U or 3U frames with other cards in the range

Input:
270Mb/s serial digital component video to EBU Tech. 3267-E, (SMPTE 259M).
Input has equalisation for up to 300m of cable.
8 bit YUV samples are used but internal processing and digital to analogue conversion is
done to 10 bit resolution.

Outputs:
Analogue - Composite NTSC/PAL. All outputs on BNC (75R).
Video Level 1V p-p
Digital - Equalised and reclocked serial output(s) for SDV (270Mb/s).

Controls:
Adjustment of analogue video gain is provided
Test Mode internally generates a modulated ramp pattern on the PAL/NTSC outputs
VBI may be blanked or passed through for -
PAL lines 2-22, 329-335 and NTSC lines 10-20, 273-282
Auto switching between PAL /NTSC can be enabled.

Power Consumption of 5.0W approx
Eurocard size module (220x100mm) for mounting in Microvideo's 1U and 3U FRAMES.
All inputs / outputs are via a DIN41612 connnector except the SDV in which utilises a
75ohm SMB connector for guaranteed performance at long cable lengths.
