Application
The E1/T1 module supports 4 independent E1 or T1 interfaces. Each interface can be configured
as E1 or T1 via software.
The E1/T1 connections are transmitted as Channel Emulation Service (CES) based on AAL1.
FEC for AAL1 can be activated.
E1/T1 supports structured and unstructured mode.
The module supports PLCP as well as ADM framing.
Each connector jack provides two E1/T1 interfaces.
The clock can be selected as interface input clock or as local clock. An external clock reference
can be used on another interface card which is provided as system clock.
The card can be configured using the console port (RS232) or in combination with an installed
controller card via Ethernet networks. All configuration parameters are stored locally and nonvolatile.
The entire function of the module is controlled by the on-board CPU. The firmware is
stored in the on-board Flash memory.
The card supports hot-plug and hot-swap according to the Compact-PCI specification.
