Application
ATecoM has developed different types of physical interfaces modules for the Falcon system.
The modules fit on both the NIM- and the TIM-Card and are interchangeable. Due to the
modular approach migration between different physical networks and network technologies
has become easy and cost effective. Supporting rates up to 622Mbps enables you to switch
to higher network bandwidth when needed.
All interface modules are compliant to the related ITU-T and ANSI standards and support all
relevant modes guaranteeing smooth adaptation to connected network equipment. To
facilitate trouble shooting four LEDs indicate the presence of a valid carrier signal, the line
status, as well as the traffic from and to the line interface.
The E3/DS3 PDH module supports both, G.703 E3 and DS3 on a single module. The
operation mode is selected by software.
Optical interfaces are available for distances from 2km up to 80km. You can choose
between duplex transceivers for use on a fiber pair, and BiDi-Interfaces interfacing to a
single fiber, while still supporting for bi-directional traffic using different wavelength for TX
and RX direction.
A primary rate clock recovered from the network clock is provided by all interfaces. Also the
interfaces can be synchronized to an external primary rate clock.
