Video/Audio/Data Digital Transmission

BOpticomm's FDV Series is a family of digitally encoded transmission systems that can transport a variety of multiple channels of analog video, audio, and data feeds. The systems digitally transport the signals over fiber optical cable for exceptional transmission quality.

The systems can accomodate almost any configuration of video, audio or data. Up to 8 Composite Video, 16 Audio or 24 Data channels can be inserted in a single card and transported over one fiber.

Higher channel single-fiber applications can be supported by using the Opticomm MDM-7000 Series WDM or CWDM Multiplexers to combine several FDV Insert Card outputs onto one fiber.

Transmission is either 8 or 10 Bit for Composte Video (NTSC/PAL/SECAM) and 24 Bit for Audio. 

The multi-channel transmission is achieved by digital modulation schemes and Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) techniques. For the Video portion, only a single wavelength is used. This assures the best possible signal uniformity. Status indicators on Video, carrier detect, voltage, optical levels, and temperature are monitored via LEDs.

The BFDV Series is ideal for the transmission of multiple chanels of Video, Audio and/or Data where the use of a limited number of fibers is either necessary or preferred.
