Firewire (IEEE 1394) Transmission System

The BDVX-2200 is a Laser-based dual channel fiber optic transmission system for the IEEE 1394 protocol.

The system provides high quality transmission of DCT compressed video per SMPTE 314M protocol. The DV data transmission is a 10-bit duplex at data rate of 25Mbps and 100Mbps. The system is designed to process the signals to minimize jitter and BER across the link. A digital signal offers superior receiver output stability unaffected by optical fiber attenuation, aging, splicing and other degradation. Both Multimode and Singlemode fibers are used to provide the best quality at a low cost.



System Design

The BDVX-2200 is a digital compressed video multimedia Firewire transport system. Units are available as Desktop (Stand Alone) and Rack Mount versions for the Multiverse Chassis. The CC-18-100 chassis has 16 slots with a single 100W power supply (PSU-100), and up to 14 slots with dual redundant 100W power supplies. The BDVX-2200 series allows for greater flexibility and future expansion. Both optical and electrical connections are accessed from the back. The Rack-Mount power supply is a regulated switching supply with short circuit protection, and an input operating voltage of 85-265 VAC.
